Abstract
PURPOSE: To effect a treatment free from secondary pollution and to recover fly-ash, by decomposing collected ash which contains ammonia and sulfur compounds using heat medium to be followed by heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Heat medium from the heat medium heating furnace 8 is used for thermal decomposition of fly-ash which is discharged from a treatment system for waste gas from a coal fired boiler or the like, and containing ammonia and sulfur compounds such as sulfuric acid. The treatment vaporizes ammonia and SO3, which returns to the heating furnace 8 to allow fly-ash to be recovered. In the heating furnace 8, the returned waste gas is heated to high temperature range of 700W1000°C permitting ammonia to be decomposed into nitrogen and SO3 to be reduced to SO2. In this simple manner, fly-ash is treated for recovery without the chance to cause secondary pollution.
