Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve printing performance through prevention of the internal part of the device from ink pollution and of ink from attaching to the nozzle protector by a method wherein an ink guide plate is provided at the lower end of the ink jet nozzle and leaked ink is gravitated and collected in an ink collector. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle protector NP in a unitary body with a carriage CA is arranged around the point of an ink jet nozzle NX. Further, the ink guide plate LP to gravitate ink stretches from the lower end of the protector part NP toward the bottom part of the ink jet printer. Facing the lower end of this guide plate LP is arranged an ink collector IB in the form of a U-groove, which is charged with an ink absorbent body IAB to absorb refuse ink.
