Abstract
PURPOSE:To make automatic correction of tilt of an electrode by installing a device to sense off contact or approach of the processing electrode, on the supporting shaft for the processing electrode supporting head. CONSTITUTION:A supporting shaft 12 is installed on the processing table 9 vertically to support electrical contact-sensing electrodes 10, 11 at an appropriate spacing and insulated from the shaft, which shall form a contact sensing device together with discriminators 15, 16 where the tips of the sensor electrodes 10, 11 are put in line with each other and, in conformity to the program from the central control device 45, the sensing electrodes 10, 11 are so directed 25 to correct the tilt of processing electrode 1, and then a plane normal to Z-axis shall be moved in such a way as approaching to the coincidence. Then, the sensing electrodes 10, 11 are transported by motors 31, 32 in such a way as approaching the processing electrode 1 under an exact transport control after modification of the operator circuit. Thus, an exact correction of the tilt of electrode 1 can be obtained.
