PURPOSE:To automatically correct and adjust mounting positions adequately for electrodes on the basis of a command from an NC device at each time of replacement of the electrode, by previously measuring an amount of the displacement for each of the electrodes and inputting said amount of the displacement to the NC device. CONSTITUTION:In a machining tank 4 provided on an XY cross table 1, a work 5 is arranged and machining liquid of kerosene or the like is stored. Then shanks 7a-7c are high accurately held by a main spindle 8, and misalignment of junction of the shanks 7a-7c and electrodes 6a-6c for the main spindle 8, that is, an amount of the displacement in mounting positions for each of the electrodes is caused. Accordingly, the displacement of junction for these shanks 7a-7c is measured, then a relative position of the main spindle 8, holding the electrodes 6a-6c through the shanks 7a-7c, and the work 5 is corrected and adjusted by the above measurement value, thus the electrode can be automatically mounted to an adequately required position.
