Abstract

PURPOSE:To retain the temperature at an adequate value in a capacitor-excitation type brushless generator by providing a cooling fan at the driving side of a rotor shaft to thereby introduce cooling air and disposing a phase advance capacitor at the upstream side of the cooling air, thereby supplying sufficient cooling air to the capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A cooling fan 9 is provided at the drive side of a rotor shaft 3 to thereby introduce cooling air A into a casing 4, and the rotor 1 and the stator 2 are thus cooled. Further, a phase advance capacitor 16 is disposed at the upstream side of the cooling air A, and the capacitor 16 is cooled before cooling the rotor 1 and the stator 2. Since a great deal of cooling air can be contacted with the capacitor 16 in this manner, it can prevent the capacitor from overheating.
