Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of mass number sweep with a computer by providing attenuators to reduce output of a D/A converter which transmits sweep signals and a means to add a variable DC voltage on the output of the attenuators. CONSTITUTION:Ions generated from an ion source 1 are allowed to pass through an electric field formed between electrodes 2, 2', dispersed with a magnetic device 3 depending on ratios of mass-electric charge, and are detected with a detector 4. The detecting signal is transferred and treated in a computer 7 through an amplifier 5 and A/D converter 6. The computer 7 generates digital sweep signals which increase gradually, the digital sweep signals are transferred to a D/A converter 8, and are fed into an adder 11 directly or through attenuators 9, 10 together with a DC voltage, and after addition, fed into a magnetic field controlling device 15 or an accelerating source 16.
