Abstract
PURPOSE:To held strength of a side wall without generating clogging to a gas passing pore by a method wherein, in removing harmful components in combustion exhaust gas by a particulate adsorbing agent such as an activated carbon, the side wall of a container containing the activated carbon is constituted by a porous plate with an inclined rib. CONSTITUTION:The adsorbing agent 1 such as the activated carbon is introduced from an upper part of the container N and, while moved downwardly, the combustion exhaust gas 2 is introduced from a right angle direction against the moving direction of the activated carbon to adsorb and remove harmful components such as NOx or SOx in the waste gas 2 by the solid-gas contact. The side wall 31 of the container N through which the waste gas 2 is passed is constituted by a porous plate obtained by punching rectangular pores 33 so as to form the inclined ribs 32. A length of a short side of the pores 33 is shorter than a particle size of the activated carbon 1 and the inclined ribs 32 are molded by extrusion so as to cover the pores 33 over about 45 deg.. The strength reduction of the side wall plate 31 is reinforced by said inclined ribs 32 and the clogging due to said activated carbon particles can be prevented by said inclined ribs 32.
