Abstract

PURPOSE: To desulfurize and denitrate effectively and to remove SOx and NOx simultaneously by contacting the combustion exhaust gas containing SOx and NOx with a W extraction residue powder having a specific particle size based on Fe, Mn at a specific temp.
CONSTITUTION: The combustion exhaust gas containing SOx and NOx is contacted with the W extraction residue powder with a particle size of 10W100μm based on Fe, Mn at 300W600°C and SOx and NOx are removed by chemically adsorbing to the aforementioned residue powder. For example, the coal combustion exhaust gas 1 containing 2,000ppm of SOx, 300ppm of NOx and 300mg/m3 of dusts is introduced into a flue 2 and, when the temp. of the exhaust gas is reached to 600°C, the W extraction residue powder with a particle size of 10W100μm is supplied at a ratio of 0.5g/m3 against the exhaust gas from a storage tank 3 to chemically adsorb SOx and NOx. Subsequently, the aforementioned powder is caught by a dust collecting filter provided at a terminal end of the flue 2 and the purified gas is dischrged from a chimney 6.
