Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for installing a large developer tank by using the inside of an image holding body drum as a storage vessel for the developer. CONSTITUTION:A powder developer 5 is contained within a process drum 4, and both sides of the drum 4 are held closed. There is a pierced hole 10 at the lengthwise end of the drum 4 to taking out the powder developer 5 through the same, and a magnet ring 11 made of magnetic rubber is placed around the pierced hole 10 and is fixed onto the drum 4. There is an N pole on one surface of the ring 11 and an S pole on the other surface. This causes the magnetic field such as the one shown to be formed. This magnetic field reaches the inside of the hole 10 thereby preventing the toner 5 from flowing out by passing the hole. The toner 5 passes the hole 10 and is taken out in the position where the magnetic field created by the hole 10 is negated by the magnet of the inner cylinder 31 of a developing roller 30. The coating layer of the toner 5 is formed on the roller 30 by the action of blades 34, 35.
