Abstract

Inner crucible 13 is in outer crucible 15 with gap C in-between, and owing to gap C crucibles 13, 15 can be moved slightly and relatively in the longitudinal X, lateral Y and height Z directions. Thus, the center of a core agrees with the center of a clad layer, and an optical fiber free from eccentricity and having a desired core diameter to outside diameter ratio is obtd.
