Abstract

PURPOSE:To set a random number string efficiently and to facilitate control over a code converter by generating random number strings for encoding signals by use of thermal noises. CONSTITUTION:Thermal noises generated by Zener diode 18 are amplified by transistor 19 and amplifier 20 successively to output a pulse string by use of Schmitt circuit 21, D.FF22 and shift register 23. A setting starting code is inputted via gate 13 to discrimination part 9, which when it is judged to be the setting starting code, inputs its output to counter 11, whose contents are changed from zero to one, thereby turning off gate 13 and on gate 12 at the same time. Consequently, the pulse string from shift register 23 is set in random-number-string generator 14 via gate 12. Next, every time the setting starting code is inputted, generators 14b-14n are set successively and signals are encoded by an input code conversion part.
