Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject signal crystal ferrite having a high initial permeability and an excellent magnetic head efficiency by a method wherein a specific quantity of tin oxide is added to Mn-Zn ferrite having a specific component ratio. CONSTITUTION:Tin oxide of 0.1-5wt% is added to the Mn-Zn ferrite consists of 50-65mol% of ferric oxide, 25-35% of manganese oxide and 5-25% of zinc oxide. As a result, the single crystal ferrite, having a high initial permeability and the high ratio C/N between the carrier output C as a magnetic head and noise N, and having excellent characteristics of VTR magnetic head to be used at the high frequency band above the several MHz, can be obtained.
