Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound having high moldability and giving a molded article having excellent mechanical strength, heat resistance, and gloss and proper hardness, by compounding a base resin with specific amounts of surface- treated glass fiber and mica subjected to compression and shearing.
CONSTITUTION: Glass fibers having diameter of 3W15 microns and length of 1W5mm and surface-treated with a silane surface treating agent, and mica powder having particle size of ≥325 mesh and subjected to compression and shearing treatments in the presence of a resin liquid such as resol resin, are compounded to a phenolic resin composition. The weight ratio of mica/glass fiber is 0.5W2.0, and the sum of the mica and the glass fiber is 40W70wt% of the prepared molding compound.
