Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled molding material capable of giving a molded article having excellent mechanical strength and heat resistance, by treating the whole mica and a part of glass fiber to be used as fillers together with a resol resin under pressure and shear stress, and compounding the product to a phenolic resin.
CONSTITUTION: A phenolic resin molding material is compounded with mica and glass fiber. In the above process, the whole mica and a part of the glass fiber to be used as the fillers are subjected to the compressing and shearing treatment with rolls before compounding. The amount of the treated glass fiber is 30W 70wt% of the whole glass fiber. The treated mica and glass fiber are mixed with novolac resin, hexamethylenetetramine, wax, and the remaining glass fiber, and formed to a molding material with a compression kneader, etc.
