Abstract

PURPOSE: Title forming material in which the content of unreacted phenol is reduced, a polyhydric alcohol and a methylolated compound with phenol nucleus are incorporated, thus having not prolonged curing time and improved kneading properties, and giving formed products with improved heat resistance and dimensional stability.
CONSTITUTION: A phenolic resin of less than 3% content of unreacted phenol, as the major ingredient, is blended with (A) a polyhydric alcohol as ethylene glycol and (B) a methylolated compound having phenol nucleus as resol type phenolic resin, wherein the weight ratio of A/B is 1/10W10/1 and the amount of the plasticizer is 0.1W5.0 wt% on the basis of the total forming material.
