Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform detection of high accuracy and high reliability by providing a plurality of magnetic poles which generate a constant magnetic flux, detecting coils which detect change of the magnetic flux generated from the magnetic poles with time at predetermined intervals along the traveling direction of a traveling body, and providing an arithmetic part which calculates traveling speeds from the time intervals of the outputs accompanied with the passage of the end part of the traveling body.
CONSTITUTION: When the end part of a traveling body 10 passes coils 14, 16, a change in magnetic path occurs in a magentic pole 12, and the pulselike induced voltages appear in the detecting coils 14, 16, at the terminals A, B of resistances 20 and 22. The pulse voltages are added by an adder 30, and after they are pulse- shaped in a differentiating circuit 32, and a pulse shaping circuit 34, they are sent to a counter 38. The counter 38 starts counting the clock pulses from a clock pulse generating circuit 36 when it receives the 1st pulse (the instant when the traveling body 10 passes the coil 14) from the circuit 34 and stops counting when it receives the 2nd pulse (likewise the instant when it passes the coil 15). From the distance L between the coils 14 and 15, and the count number, the speed of the traveling body 10 is outputted from a divider 40. Thereby, the detection of high accuracy and high reliability may be performed.
