Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately measure a length of the let-out line, by a device wherein magnetic materials are attached on the fishing line with a given interval therebetween and the number of pulses is counted which are generated when the magnetic materials pass through coils. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of magnetic materials are attached on a fishing line with a given interval therebetween, while the line is let out to pass through coils fixed on a fishing rod. With the fishing line being let out, a counting circuit calculates the number of pulse signals which are generated when the magnetic materials pass through the coils, so that the length of the let-out fishing line is measured. For example, magnetic materials 5 are attached on a fishing line 2 with a given interval therebetween. The number of pulse signals from an oscillator 11 which are generated every time when the magnetic materials 5 pass through coils 8a, 8b upon letting-out of the fishing line are counted via an amplifier 12. Thus, the counted result is displayed on an indicator 13. By providing a part of coils 8a, 8b and adding a line direction detecting circuit 14, it becomes possible to decide whether the fishing line is being let out or wound up.
