PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material having a superior shelf stability and capable of being subjected to rapid photographic processing by adding a specified compound as the precursor of photographic chemicals. CONSTITUTION:To a layer of a photosensitive material is added a compound, as the precursor of photographic chemicals, prepared by reacting an N-contg. org. base or a compound having a quat. N atom with strongly acidic phenol and represented by formula I (where D is an N-contg. org. base or a quat. N atom-contg. compound; each of R1-R5 is H, halogen, hydroxy, 1-6C alkyl or the like; and m is 1-3), e.g. the compound of formula II. The amount of the compound added is about 0.1- 10mol and about 0.0001-1mol per 1mol of silver halide in case of the precursor of an aromatic primary amine developing agent and a precursor having other function, respectively.
