Abstract

1331403 Infectious developer FUJI PHOTO FILM CO LTD 27 March 1972 [26 March 1971] 14324/72 Heading G2C An infectious developer for high contrast photographic material comprises 5-50 g/l of hydroquinone or a hydroquinone derivative and 0.1-20 g/l of hydrazine or a hydrazine derivative of the formula: - wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> each represent hydrogen, C 1-4 alkyl, phenyl or nitrophenyl, except that one of R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> may be -CONH 2 or - CONHNH 2 The developer also contains 0.005-0.05 mole of free sulphite per litre of solution and alkali in an amount to produce a pH of at least 8.
