Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a polymer-polyol being excellent in dispersion stability and useful as a material for polyurethanes, by polymerizing a polymerizable unsaturated group-containing monomer in a mixture of specified polyols not containing a polymerizable unsaturated group.
CONSTITUTION: Polyols are prepared by reacting a low-MW active hydrogen compound having at least two active hydrogen atoms, such as a polyhydroxy compound or amine having an MW of 30W1,500, with a polyisocyanate compound such as tolylene diisocyanate to form a polyol having at least one nitrogen-containing linkage and reacting a higher-MW polyol such as a polyether-polyol having an MW per hydroxyl group, of 300W2,500, with a polyisocyanate compound to form a polyol having a nitrogen-containing linkage. Then, the polymer-polyol of the purpose is obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable unsaturated group-containing monomer in a polymerizable unsaturated group-free polyol mixture including the above nitrogen-containing polyols.
