Abstract

PURPOSE: A composition for forming a nonyellowing polyurethane resin, excellent in physical properties and useful for paints, prepared by mixing 4-isocyanatomethyl-1,8-octamethylene diisocyanate with an active hydrogen-containing compound at a specified ratio.
CONSTITUTION: 4-Isocyanatomethyl-1,8-octmethylene diisocyanate or a blocked product derived by blocking the isocyanato groups of the compound is mixed with a compound having at least two active hydrogen atoms so that the mol ratio of the isocyanato groups or blocked isocyanato groups in the former component to the active hydrogen atoms in the latter falls in the range of 1:5W 5:1.
