Abstract

PURPOSE: A thermosetting resin composition having improved low-temperature curability, prepared by mixing a specified blocked isocyanate compound with a specified electron-accepting compound and an OH-containing synthetic resin.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (I) a blocked isocyanate compound having the formula, wherein at least one of A and B is a nitrogen atom; when B is a nitrogen atom, A is an atom with an unpaired electron such as oxygen, sulfur or nitrogen and when A is a nitrogen atom, B is any atom and R and R' are each an alkyl, prepared from an aliphatic or aromatic isocyanate and a blocking agent therefor containing a nitrogen atom in an α- or β-position to an active hydrogen atom and in which said nitrogen atom and the urethane bond together forms a resonance structure (II) an electron-accepting compound, electron affinity ≥0.1eV, capable of forming a charge-transfer complex with the blocked isocyanate compound A and (III) a polyhydroxylated polymerizable polymer or a hydroxyl group-containing synthetic resin.
