Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition capable of giving coating films of outstanding scratch resistance, by formulating a specific low-mol. wt. polyol, polyester resin and alkoxymonomeric melamine. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by formulating (A) 15-60wt% of a low-mol. wt. polyol with a weight-average mol. wt. (Mw) of 400-2,000 and hydroxyl value of 150-400mgKOH/g, having such mol. wt. distribution as to be <=1.6 for the ratio Mw/Mn (Mn: number-average mol. wt.), (B) 15-60wt.% of a polyester resin with a Mw of 2,000-50,000, hydroxyl value of 50-200mgKOH/g and content of cyclohexylene rig of >=7wt.%, and (C) 20-50wt% of an alkoxymonomeric melamine.
