Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the magnetic characteristic of semihard magnetic material for a hysteresis electromotor by a method wherein an alloy of maraging steel, Ni content thereof is restricted under a fixed parcentage is subjected to a solid solution treatment and then undergoes an aging treatment within the limits of a fixed temperature. CONSTITUTION:An alloy containing one or two kinds of Ni 8-17%, Co 5-30%, Mo 2-10% and Ti below 3%, Al below 3% in weight ratio and the rest consisting of Fe and impurities is subjected to a solid solution treatment, and then an aging treatment is conducted at the temperature of 480 deg.C-650 deg.C. Accordingly, it is possible to obtain a semihard magnetic material, in which the remaining magnetic flux density is above 12K Gauss, the coersive force is above 50 Oersted, the fluctuation ratio of said magnetic characteristic according to temperature is about 10% at 200 deg.C provided that 25 deg.C is 1, besides the tensile strength is above 130kg/mm.<2>. By using said material for the rotor 7 it is possible to obtain a hysteresis electromotor having little fluctuation in its characteristics to occur in accordance with the change in the rotor temperature.
