Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the operating efficiency of a system by preventing the system from being in a down state, by changing input-output operation control from a central processor over to an additional processor dynamically when a fault occurs to the central processor.
CONSTITUTION: If a machine fault occurs to instruction execution control unit 22 of central processor 2, machine fault detection part 24 detects the fault and inputs the information to discriminating circuit 231 of constitution control unit 23. From the machine fault, discriminating circuit 231 decides on whether the processing can be continued by instruction execution control unit 22 and, when the processing can not be continued, sends a processing continuation impossibility signal to constitution control circuit for instruction processing control, constitution control circuit 234 for input-output processing control and constitution control circuit 235 for communication via signal line 232. Then, respective constitution control circuits 233, 234 and 235 generate disconnection signals (a), (b) and (c) and instruction execution control unit 22 of central processor 2 is disconnected from the system, so that the control, such as actuation, interruption and stopping over input-output processor 4 will be exercised by instruction execution control unit 32 of additional processor 3.
