Abstract

PURPOSE: To lower the energy consumption rate in a heating furnace, by reducing the supply of superfluous combusting air by automatically controlling the air-fuel ratio in every region of the heating furnace on the basis of the actual density of oxygen in the furnace that is obtained through measurement.
CONSTITUTION: In the system, there are provided a means 8 for detecting the density of O2 in a heating furnace, O2 controlling means 9, 10 operated selectively when a gate of the heating furnace is opened and closed in response to the output signal of the means 8, adders 11, 12 for adding a predetermined voltage to the outputs of the O2 controlling means 9, 10, and an air-fuel ratio controlling means 3 for determining the ratio of air-flow rate to fuel-flow rate on the basis of the output signal of a fuel-flow selecting means 1, an actual measurement signal of a fuel-flow meter 6, an actual measurement signal of an air-flow meter 7 and the output signals of the adders 11, 12. Here, the air-fuel ratio controlling means 3 is designed to give set values respectively to a fuel-flow controller 4 and an air-flow controller 5. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to eliminate fluctuation in the density of O2 at the time when the gate of the furnace is opened and to minimize the energy consumption rate in the furnace.
