Abstract

PURPOSE: A solid mix of ammelide and ammeline that is obtained in the purification of isocyanuric acid is recovered, dehydrated or dried, mixed with a specific amount of urea and used effectively as a part of raw materials for a urea-melamine manufacturing plant.
CONSTITUTION: Crude isocyanuric acid resulting from pyrolysis of urea and/or its phyrolysates is extracted with water at a pH of 3.5W8.5 at a temperature of 40W 250°C, separated into solid and liquid to obtain a solid mixture of ammeline and ammelide as by-products. After dehydrated or dried, the solid mixture is mixed with urea at a ratio of less than 40wt% to the urea and used as a part of raw materials for a urea-melamine manufacturing plant.
EFFECT: The problems concerning waste water containing ammelide and ammeline is eliminated and they can be utilized effectively.
