Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an economical and efficienct of sludge in city water, sewage, industrial waste water, or the like and to enable utilization of solid matter, by adding the sludge with slaked lime (Ca(OH)2) in such an amount that the weight ratio of the slaked lime to the dried solid sludge (D.S.) in the dehydrated cake will be in the range of Ca(OH)2/D.S.≤0.5, and by heating and melting the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The sludge in a sewage treatment plant is added with slaked lime in such an amount that the weight ratio of the slaket lime to the dried solid sludge in the dehydrated cake will be in a range of Ca(OH)2/D.S.≤0.5, preferably 0.05≤Ca(OH)2/D.S.≤0.25. Then the mixture is melted by heating.
