Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover dried coal having low water content from the slurry of raw coal, in high efficiency and dehydration efficiency, by separating the raw coal slurry into coarse coal slurry and fine powder slurry, dehydrating the former slurry as it is, while subjecting the latter slurry to concentration, addition of mineral oil, granulation and dehydration.
CONSTITUTION: The slurry of raw coal is separated into the coarse coal slurry (the diameters of coal particles are 1W30mm) and the fine powder slurry (≤1mm in diameter) with a fine powder separator 6 and/or a storage tank 8. The coarse coal slurry is dehydrated with a dehydrator 10 to recover the coarse coal 11. On the other hand, the fine powder slurry is concentrated to the concentration of about 30wt% in the tank 14, added with 5W20wt% of mineral oil 17, granulated, and dehydrated with the dehydrator 10' to recover the granulated coal 19.
EFFECT: The process is economical because the necessary amount of the mineral oil is small, and the oil can be recycled.
