Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent formation of fine coal without using a large amt. of a granulating agent, by agitating coal-water pulp with addition of little oil-cong. emulsion followed by storing coarse coal after screening and dehydration, while agitating fine coal-water pulp with addition of an oil-contg. emulsion followed by storing the resulting granulated product after dehydration.
CONSTITUTION: Coal-water pulp 1 is subjected to coalescence, a phenomenon of adhering of oil on the surface of a coal particle, in prinmary agitating reactor 2 with addition of emulsion 3 consisting of oil and water as a granulating agent. Then coarse coal is separated from fine coal-water pulp at screening step 4. The coarse coal on the screen is directly carried to storage step 5 because it has been dehydrated during screening. The fine coal-water pulp below the screen is agglomerated and granulated with addition of the emulsion 3 is secondary agitating reactor 6. The resulting granule is carried to the storage step 5 after dehydration.
