Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title composition for conductive resin or rubber masterbatches, easily kneadable, by separating and removing a liquid component from a mixture of a rubber dispersion and an aqueous suspension of carbon black, and by oxidizing the resulting composition.
CONSTITUTION: 100 parts by wt. of a rubber in a dispersion is added to an aqueous suspension comprising 300W3000 parts by wt. of carbon black having a specific surface area of 600 m2/g and stirred to form a feather-like mass having the maximum diameter of 0.1W3 mm wherein the rubber is attached to the carbon black. The mass was then dehydrated to form a mass with a water content of 60W80 wt. %, which is granulated by the wet method into granules 0.2W2 mm in diameter. The granules are then oxidized in the presence of oxygen gas at 100W250°C.
