Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a unit conversion through a simple constitution, by installing the circuit which repeats a fixed registering for addition with the pulse signal obtained from the digital scale sensor plus the circuit which counts the overflows sent from the adder.
CONSTITUTION: In case when the length is measured with a resolution of 10-3mm using the sensor 3, the "3937" is preset to the batch counter 5 since 10-3mm is equivalent to 3937×10-4 inches in case when the measured value is desired to deliver in the unit of inch. The gate 6 closes to be reset to 0 every time 3937 units of input pulses are supplied from the sensor 3 to the gate 6 via the oscillator 10 of 1MHz. This action is repeated, and thus a display of "26529" is obtained for the main counter 2 with input of 67384 pulses for instance. The decimal point is displayed occasionaly. The convertion from inch into mm is possible just by setting the register of figure to "254". In such way, the unit conversion is possible in a simple constitution.
