Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the raw material gas consumption of a metal heat treatment atmosphere furnace by feeding the atmosphere exhaust gas which is being exhausted from the furnace again into a converting furnace which produces atmosphere gas. CONSTITUTION:An atmosphere gas for accomplishment of nonoxidative heating, reducing treatment, carburizing treatment, etc. is fed through a feed port 15 into a metal heat treatment atmosphere furnace consisting of a treating chamber 1 and a cooling chamber 2. The composition of the atmosphere gas is changed by sending hydrocarbon gas such as propane and air to a converting furnace 12 by means of a pump 6 and controlling a propane flowmeter 8 and an air flowmeter 17 to meet the purpose. The composition changes in the furnace 1 and chamber 2. The exhaust gas of increased harmful components such as N2O, CO2 O2 is gathered at capturing ports 3, 3' and part thereof is cooled in a cooler 4 and is then flowed through a a flowmeter 5. The oxygen content thereof is measured with an oxygen content measuring gauge 18, and the proper amount of the exhaust gas is circulated to the furnace 12 based on the results thereof, whereby the consumption of the propane which is a raw material is decreased.
