Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare fine granular preparation having improved uniformity of the content of the effective component regardless of the size of individual particle, by controlling the amount and the particle size distribution of the vehicle to specific values.
CONSTITUTION: A fine granular preparation is prepared by using a vehicle mixture comprising (A) a vehicle having particle diameter of 150W350μ (e. g. granulated sugar having particle diameter of 250W350μ) and (B) a vehicle having particle diameter of ≤50μ (e.g. ground granulated sugar having an average particle diameter of 35μ). The weight ratio of (A):(B) is 85W99:15W1 or 10W1:90W99. The use of two kinds of vehicles affords more uniform distribution of the effective component (e. g. cephalexin) among the particles having different sizes, even when the vehicles are universal ones having low water-absorption, e. g. lactose and granulated sugar, than attained by the use of only one vehicle. Accordingly, the homogeneity of the content of the effective component throughout the whole composition can be maintained even if the particles are separated by sizes during transportation, etc.
