Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the characteristic of coloring pater, particularly color generating characteristic and fading characteristic of image, by dispersing calcium carbonate of specific particle size distribution in the layer of the coloring agent.
CONSTITUTION: The color generating characteristic and fading characteristic of color image of the coloring paper are improved by dispersing in the layer of the coloring agent particles of calcium carbonate of such a particle size distribution that the particles smaller than 2μ occupy more than 55%, preferably 65% of the whole particles. The amount of the calcium carbonate depends on the kinds of the coloring agent, although no there is no restriction concerning the kinds of the coloring agent. When an acidic clay is used as the major component of the coloring agent, the amount of addition of the calcium carbonate is not greater than 30% by weight of the total solid content, and is preferably not greater than 20% by weight when the coloring agent is an organic acid, acidic polymer or an admixture of these substances. The binder for the calcium carbonate and the binder for the coloring agent may be of known types.
