Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize waste heat, which is radiated wastefully from an evaporator, for heating seawater fed to a dialyzing tank, by a method wherein a heater is positioned on the way to a piping through which a heated concentrated liquid is transferred from the evaporator to a settling tank.
CONSTITUTION: Seawater flowing out from a filtered seawater tank 9 flows to a heater 13 through a seawater feed pipe 21. Said heater 13 is located on the way in a piping through which a hot concentrated seawater discharged from an evaporator 12 is transferred to a settling tank 14, and heat exchanging is conducted between the hot concentrated seawater and seawater in the feed pipe 21. After heat exchange is completed, heated seawater is fed through a seawater feed pipe 22 from a pipe 3 in the desalting system and a pipe 4 in the concentrated liquid system to an electric dialyzing tank 10 whereat it is separated into desalted water and concentrated water. In the meantime, the concentrated water flows into a salt-water tank 11 and is heated in the evaporator 12. It is heat-exchanged in a heat exchanger 13 on the way to the settling tank 14, and is manufactured into salt through the settling tank 14 and a centrifugal separator 15.
