Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce compression pressure in idling or idling to low load running regions for reducing combustion noise and vibration by providing a throttle valve in an intake path to a Diesel engine adjusting the output according to fuel injection amount, which valve is closed only in the idling or idling to low load running regions.
CONSTITUTION: When an accelerator pedal 3 is depressed beyond idling or low load running region, a switch 17 in a wiring 16 is turned on to operate an electromagnetic solenoid 13 and project a movable iron core 14 so that a throttle valve 7 is held fully opened against a spring 12 and intake air to an engine is not controllably regulated. However, when then accelerator pedal 3 is not depressed or a little depressed, the switch 17 in the wiring 16 is turned off of disable the solenoid 13 so that the throttle valve 7 is closed by the spring 12 and the intake air amount to the engine is controllably regulated. Thus, compression pressure is reduced, and the maximum pressure and pressure rise ratio after ignition are suppressed low to reduce compression noise and vibration.
