Abstract

PURPOSE: To cause crystalline aluminosilicate to adsorb moisture in a brake fluid to remove the moisture, by providing the crystalline aluminosilicate in a part of a brake system and bringing the brake fluid into contact with the aluminosilicate.
CONSTITUTION: Dry molecular sieve grains 3 of crystalline alumino-silicate are packed in a net pouch 5. This pouch 5 is then placed in a brake fluid in the reservoir tank 2 of a master cylinder 1. The molecular sieve grains 3 from which water of crystallization is removed by heating and drying have minute holes of about 4W5Å. Water, whose molecular size is small and which is dissolved in the brake fluid, is selectively adsorbed into the minute holes of the grains 3. The brake fluid, whose molecular size is large, cannot be adsorbed into the minute holes. Therefore, the brake fluid and the water can be effectively separated from each other.
