Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily obtain a composite metal wire blank material through hot extruding by closing a core material into the through-hole or bottomed hole of a billet center by means of a plug.
CONSTITUTION: A through-hole 2 or bottomed hole 2' is pierced at the center of a billet of a metal or alloy. Next, a core material 3 of a metal or alloy different from that of the billet 1 and of a diameter approximately the same as the hole diameter is inserted or the molten metal or alloy different from that of the billet 1 is injected into the hole. Thence, an external screw 5 comprising a material having deformation resistance and m.p. identical or resembling to those of the billet 1 is screwed into the internal screw 4 engraved on the inside circumferential surface of the opening end part of the through-hole 2 or bottomed hole 2', whereby the hole is closed. After this, this composite billet 6 is extruded hot to a composite metal wire blank material.
