Abstract
PURPOSE:To lower the switching loss of a power transistor and to decrease the storage time, by providing the circuit connection switching means with the secondary winding of the 1st and 2nd pulse transformers, for the forward bias current and reverse bias current. CONSTITUTION:When a transistor T1 is on with an on-command, a transistor T3 is on, and the forward bias current flows to a resistance R1 and a main transistor MT to turn on the main transistor MT. In this case, since no bias current flows to a transistor T4, it is off, and no forward bias current flows to the secondary winding of the reverse bias pulse transformer PT2. Next, with off-command, transistors T1, T3 are off and a transistor T2 is on for a fixed time. The transistor T4 is on and the reverse bias current flows to the main transistor MT and a resistor R2. In this case, since the transistor T3 is off, no reverse bias current flows to the secondary winding of the forward bias pulse transformer PT1.
