Abstract

PURPOSE: To estimate a characteristics of an actual load state by a method wherein as a DC side current of a thyristor power rectifier, a quantity of current added with a current changing timely according to a constant DC current is supplied and the input/output characteristics of a rotary machine to be tested at this time is measured.
CONSTITUTION: The rotary machine to be tested 2 is rotated with a constant speed by means of a variable speed motor 1 and an exciting current is supplied by means of an excitation device 3. Next thereto, if a constant DC current is applied by means of the thyristor power rectifier 4, an average voltage becomes approximately zero because a load is only a DC reactor 5, and operation is performed with a control lag angle of approximately 90°. Here, as a DC current, a current wherein a constant current I0 is added with a sine wave current of a frequency f0 is applied. Since there is a relation of α+β=180° between the control lag angle α and the effective commutation lead angle β, an operation with the β during an actual load time is enable by selecting the excitation current properly. With a constitution as this, the equivalence test approximately same as that of during an actual load time can be performed.
