Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out the air filtration and dust collection over a long period by a method wherein a filter member is rotated in the presence of a filter layer formed on a surface of a filter cylinder and attached dust is removed by first half rotation and air is filtered by next half rotation.
CONSTITUTION: If the filter cylinder 5 is rotated, filter members 8 moved from a side of a roller electrode 11 to a side of a vertical grid electrode 10 are contacted with the negatively charged gride electrode 10 and neutralized electrically and the dust sucked to the filter member 8 are released from a suction force and collected to the lower part of a filter chamber 2. A slit 20 is provided to a lower terminal end of the grid electrode 10 to flow air at a high speed by the atmospheric pressure and the dust released from the filter members 8 are sent into a damper chamber 4. To a raising part in this damper chamber 4, a net 19 is provided to prevent the dust from being whirling up. The filter members 8 from which the dust is shaken down in a side of the grid electrode 10 is moved while rubbed against the roller electrode 11 and, in a positively charged condition, recirculated again to a side of an air sucking port 2.
