Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform an efficient, short-period cleaning and regeneration of poisoned catalyst by a method wherein a poisoned catalyst is immersed in a liquid in which numerous fine bubbles suspend, and is given an ultrasonic vibration.
CONSTITUTION: A cleaning liquid 6 such as water or an acidic water is filled in the water tank 1 having a perforated plate 2 at its bottom, and, while under the plate 2, an air chamber 3 to which compressed air is supplied. Poisoned catalyst 9 is placed on the retaining frame 8 which is vibrated by the ultrasonic vibrator 7, and is immersed in the cleaning liquid 6. When a compressed air is supplied through feed pipe 4, fine bubbles 10 from the perforated plate 2 float through the cleaning liquid 6, collide with poisoned catalyst 9 and rise up while agitating the cleaning liquid 6. At the same time, ultrasonic vibration is transmitted from the vibrator 7 to the catalyst 9. This synergistic action dissolves and removes the deposits from the catalyst 9 in a short period of time, and thus the catalytic capability is recovered.
