Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the reliance on an angle of the detection sensitivity within a prescribed angular range by a method wherein the peripheral part of the radiation detector is surrounded by a radiation shielding body provided with a collimator in a part thereof and the shielding body is made to drive rotationally.
CONSTITUTION: Around the radiation detector 21 is provided a cylindrical radiation shielding body 22. In a part of the shielding body 22 is formed the parallel collimator 23. In addition, on the peripheral surface of the body 22 is fitted a gear 24 so that the shielding body 22 is rotated by a driving gear 25. In such a constitution, by driving a motor 26 based on a control signal from a collimator control signal generator 28 and rotating the shielding body 22, the collimator 23 is faced in the direction of an incident radiation R. By this, with the detector 21 being left fixed, a definite detection sensitivity can be obtained within the range of nearly 360°.
