Abstract

PURPOSE: To take out molten silica stably and continuously from a melt furnace without coloring and contaminating it, by using plural numbers of transferring bodies with clamps as a device for taking out molten silica.
CONSTITUTION: The transferring body 15 with the clamps 14 (14' and 14") is attached to the slide lever 16 equipped with the limit switches 19 and 19 through the cylinder 17 and the operating level 18 in such a way that the body 15 is vertically movable. Plural numbers of the transferring bodies are combined to form the taking out device 13, which is placed below the taking out nozzle 4 at the bottom of the furnace 1. In the unit, the clamps 14' and 14" of the taking out device 13 hold the cylindrical molten silica alternatively and take out is downward, the cutter 20 is operated while the silica 12 being held by both the clamps 14' and 14", and the molten silica is cut into a constant length and taken out.
