Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a heat softening substance to be melted smoothly and continuously by placing a cooler over a melting crucible furnace for continuously melting the substance to cool the substance fed into the furnace owing to its empty weight under a specified condition. CONSTITUTION:A solidified heat softening substance is continuously fed into a melting crucible furnace provided with an outflow nozzle at the bottom owing to its empty weight, and it is melted and allowed to continuosuly flow out of the nozzle. In this continuously melting method a cooler is placed over the surface to cool the substance under the condition of the equation [where DELTAl is the difference (mm.) in height between a position where the substance shows about 10<7> poise in the furnace and a position where it shows about 10<3> poise in the progress direction of the substance (mm.) between opposite principal inner wall faces when the inner wall is composed of continuous faces].
