Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable skin layers and a heat-insulating layer to be produced in a single production stage and thereby simplify the production process of the cabinet by a method wherein an inner plate constituting a fan casing, the heat-insulating layer and a back surface are produced integrally by reaction injection molding of foamed polyurethane.
CONSTITUTION: When producing the cabinet of an air conditioner, a raw urethane solution in an amount larger than that required to form the intended shape is injected into a molding die (not shown) and is foamed and solidified, to integrally mold the skin layers 10 and the heat-insulating layer 11. The skin layers 10 are molded, e.g., at a density of 0.6W1.0g/cm3 and in a thickness of 1.0W2.0mm and constitute the entire surfaces of the cabinet. The heat-insulating layer 11 is molded as a low-density foam having a density of, e.g., 0.03W0.12g/cm3. A parting line 12 is provided along the entire periphery of the corners of the back surface of the cabinet, and the skin layer 10 at the left in the figure is used as the inner plate constituting the fan casing.
