Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the signal shifted in phase by 90 deg. independently of the frequency of AC power supply, by providing one set of diodes in antiparallel connection. CONSTITUTION:When AC input 1 is fed between input terminals 2 and 2', current flows to the terminal 2' through the terminal 2, capacitor 3 and diode 5 at time t0-t1. Further, forward voltage Vf of the diode 5 is output between terminals 6 and 6'. The charging voltage of the capacitor 3 at time t1 is almost the same value of the maximum voltage Em of the AC input 1. Accordingly, at time t1-t2, the capacitor 3 is discharged and the charge is zero at time t2. Further, at time t2-t3, the capacitor 3 is charged reverse. That is, at time t1-t3, reverse current flows, the diode 4 is conductive and -Vf is output between the output terminal 6 and 6'. Similarly, the process is repeated to obtain an output shifted in phase by 90 deg. to the input voltage.
