Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the deviation in the opposed positions of both end hooks of a coiled spring with a prescribed number of turns in a machine for manufacturing the coiled spring having the hooks at both the ends, by providing a plurality of detection bars in parallel with the axis of the spring and coupling the detection bars to the driving section of a controller. CONSTITUTION:The solenoid 51 of the first detecting section operates to protrude a detection bar 57 right before the turns of a spring reach a half of a prescribed number during the winding formation of the spring. When the first hook has come into contact with the detection bar 57, a roller is braked and stopped. After that, a signal to the solenoid 51 is eliminated to resume material supply and the winding formation. When the first hook has come into contact with the second detection bar 57', the material supply is stopped. As soon as the detection bar 57' is retracted, a coil forming tool 45 is also retracted. The second hook forming tool 46 is moved forth instead of the first tool 45 to form the second hook. Since the first and the second detection bars 57, 57' are used, the opposed positions of both the end hooks adjusted to each other.
