Abstract

1,136,137. Connecting winding bars to driving spindles. EMERSON & RENWICK Ltd. 19 July, 1967 [19 July, 1966], No. 32284/66. Heading F2U. In a winding machine wherein each end of a winding bar A has a square section extension a engaging a slot b in a driving spindle B and an axially slidable sleeve C is movable between an engaged position in which it holds the bar A in the slot b and a release position in which the bar A may be withdrawn from the slot b, the sleeve C has a cam surface c which co-operates with a fixed pin d to move the sleeve C to its engaged position when the machine is started with the sleeve in its released position. The bar A is axially positioned by a flange a<SP>1</SP> thereon engaging a recess d<SP>2</SP> in a block fast with the spindle B.
